The Multiple is a transparent box that contains scale images of all the paintings presented in ‘Mysterium Tremendum’. It is signed and numbered 1 to 20 on the front facing inserted card. The scale of the images is the same as the scale of the Model: 1/20th.
images are stored in separate compartments within the plastic enclosure.
The image of the large painting ‘Statement’ is stored in a little box wrapped in text pages cut from a french edition of ‘Imitations of Christ’. Each multiple contains an individual line of a chapter fitting to the ‘Mysterium…’-installation. This line is the context that determines the meaning of the installation for the owner of the Multiple.

Four panels of the miniature version of ‘Death and Bones…’ are contained in another box, to which an image of roses is applied.
The roses, bound by a rope, form a compositional
echo of the ‘Statement’-image. Here, too, the chaptertext from ‘Imitations de Jesus Christ’ is applied. Thus, twenty different lines form the individual titles to the multiples. They also form, together, a poem which is included in the multiple.
Included as well is a chronological list of the titles of all the paintings:
